The Cumbrian Card Is Coming to Carlisle and Towns Across Cumbria — How to Get On It

The Cumbrian Card Team  ·  6 May 2026

Imagine a premium local advertising card landing on kitchen tables across Carlisle — and your business is on it.

No more guessing which leaflets worked. No more wasting budget on people miles outside your patch. Just a high-quality card, packed with trusted local businesses, delivered straight to the homes you want to reach.

That's the idea behind The Cumbrian Card. We're launching in Carlisle first, then rolling out across key towns in Cumbria. This guide explains what the card is, which towns are coming next, and how you can secure a slot before it fills.

What is The Cumbrian Card?

The Cumbrian Card is a premium direct-mail advertising card for local businesses in Carlisle and across Cumbria. Instead of one business paying thousands for a solo leaflet drop, multiple businesses share a professionally designed, double-sided 12×8 card that's delivered directly to local homes.

Here's how it works:

Our goal is simple: make high-quality, premium local advertising affordable and effective for independent businesses across Cumbria.

Why we're starting in Carlisle

We chose Carlisle as the launch area for one clear reason: it's the heartbeat of a huge local economy, packed with independent businesses that rely on nearby customers. In and around Carlisle you'll find trades and home services, cafés, takeaways, restaurants and pubs, salons, barbers and beauty clinics, fitness studios, retailers and showrooms.

Many of these businesses already spend money on leaflets, social media boosts or local ads — but often don't know what's actually working. The Cumbrian Card puts them in front of local households in a consistent, premium, trackable way.

If you're a Carlisle business, this first wave is your chance to be on the card from day one. See the Carlisle card details here.

Which Cumbrian towns are coming next?

While Carlisle is first, The Cumbrian Card is designed from the ground up to serve towns and villages across Cumbria. Our rollout is focused on the towns with the right combination of population, local business density, and community feel.

We're already building town-specific pages and interest lists, so businesses can register early for their area and be the first to hear when launch dates are confirmed. If your town is on our coming soon list, now is the time to raise your hand.

Why local businesses are keen to get on early

Slots on The Cumbrian Card are limited by design. Each card carries a set number of businesses so it stays clean, readable and premium. Here's why early adopters are moving fast:

Limited spaces per card

With 16 businesses per card — and only 2 premium spots — spaces are genuinely limited. Once a card is full for a given area and run, it's full. Joining early means you're not fighting for a last-minute slot, and you avoid being blocked by a competitor in your category.

First pick on categories and placement

Early businesses in each town get first pick on categories — one plumber, one salon, one accountant, one café and so on. This protects your sector and helps keep the card genuinely useful for residents. If you want a premium spot, those two positions are first come, first served.

Being on the card from the very first drop

When The Cumbrian Card hits an area for the first time, it arrives with something new: a curated set of local businesses, wrapped in a premium design. Businesses on that first drop benefit from immediate brand recognition — and a head start on competitors who only notice the card once residents are already using it.

What to expect when The Cumbrian Card comes to your town

Step 1: Register your interest

Let us know which town you're interested in, what kind of business you run, and roughly how far you're willing to travel for customers. Visit your town's page to register — each town page has its own interest form.

Step 2: We confirm coverage and card dates

Once we have enough interest in an area, we confirm the delivery area (specific postcodes and villages), share target dates for the first card drops, and give you the option to secure your slot.

Step 3: We design your advert with you

You don't need to be a designer. We help you choose a clear offer, include your key details (name, location, contact, website), and use photography or clean graphics that match the premium look of the card. The aim is an advert that's easy to understand at a glance and worth keeping on the fridge.

Step 4: Print and distribution

We handle premium print and manage distribution to the targeted households in your chosen area. You don't deal with printers, distributors or leaflet rounds. It's all handled for you.

Step 5: Track your results

Every slot includes a unique QR code so you can track engagement. We encourage you to use simple tracking — "show this card" offers, dedicated phone mentions — and refine your offer over time as you see what resonates. The goal is measurable, repeatable results.

The Cumbrian Card vs going it alone

For most Carlisle and Cumbrian businesses, the real decision is simple: keep trying to do leaflets and bits of online advertising on your own, or plug into a shared premium card that's built for your area.

For a lot of local businesses, that's the difference between "we can't really afford to do much marketing" and "we have a premium presence in local homes all year."

How to secure your place

If you're based in Carlisle, you're at the front of the queue — interest is already high and the first cards are going out in July 2026. If you're elsewhere in Cumbria, now is the time to raise your hand so we can plan the first cards for your town.

Visit your town's page to register your interest — or contact us directly to talk through availability, pricing and what's left in your category.

The Cumbrian Card is built for businesses just like yours — local, service-led and focused on real customers in Carlisle and across Cumbria. Get on the first card in your area rather than playing catch-up later.
